Sour Cream

Sour Cream...It shouldn't be so hard!
Everything in the Philippines is just a little more difficult than back at home. It can be very difficult and frustrating for me at times. For instance last night Kessee and I went out on a date and we found this great little Mexican Restaurant. We were so excited for Mexican food because it is really hard to find it, and if you do find a Mexican Restaurant it is a risk eating at it. So we found this place called, "Mexicali". I ordered a Chimichanga and when it came it had a tiny bit of sour cream drizzled over the top of it. Kessee had fajitias and they served hime a gernerous portion of sour cream. So I asked the waitress if I could please get a side of sour cream. She acted all wierd and was dodging the question. I then said, "i will pay for the side. It isn't a problem. She then proceded to tell me that she would have to check with the manager to see if I could get a side of sour cream. So what, you need an approval from a manager when a customer wants to purchase something? Life is backwards here. A few minutes later she came back to the table and said she was very sorry but she wouldn't be able to get me any sour cream because they were having, "technical problems" with the sour cream. HELLO!!! What kind of technical problems can sour cream have? Its not a computer it is food. Maybe the cow milking machinery was broken...I don't get it. Kessee and I nearly busted out laughing. I mean I just don't get it. Anyway I never got any extra sour cream. I don't know if they were low on it or what. But in the states if I was willing to buy something it wouldn't matter if they were almost out or not, they would just give it to me and then tell the next customer they were out. Anyway I had to vent about the sour cream issue because it is annoying and wierd.

I am laughing because I can just picture the 2 of you sitting there. Well, at least you found some Mexican food, right?

The worst part of this is that I don't think that people realize the intense love that Angela has for sour cream. As an immediate family member, I can remember that a meal without sour cream is not a meal to Angela!!!!

I just bought some sour cream on Saturday at Macey's and it was surprisingly easy--no technical difficulties here! Maybe you should stock up while you're here so you can bring your own side next time.

That is so funny. I hate to tell you but we have experienced equally bad service here in the States... especially in Chicago. We actually stood at Subway while the two employees fought over who would NOT help us. Sorry about the sour cream. I feel your pain.

Ang...that is hilarious! You need a Girls' Night out at El Sol, don't you? THEY'D give us more sour cream! And then we could reminisce about the good ol' college days as we enjoyed our dollop of sour cream!
